Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 Op18
It may seem unfamiliar but part of it indeed appeared in many movies and dramas.
Last concerto composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff between the autumn of 1900 and April 1901, he has reflected his emotion of battling with his illness in it. Beginning with anxiety, gradually he overcame it and led into an ecstatic coda!
In Nodame Cantabile, Shinichi Chiaki was frustrated when he was first asked to perform this song by his teacher. Stressed by Maestro Franz von Stresemann in every single practice, but his final advice to Chiaki before the performance was ... "Do it in your very own unique way with all your hearts! You have done very well and now is the time we enjoy this joyous musical moment!"

As portrait in Nodame Cantabile, Shinichi Chiaki learned to play violin and piano since he was three. Like many musicians, he was taught to play music as written and upset that his orchestra members were unable to keep up to his requirements. They were to perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92 (First movement Poco sostenuto - Vivave) for their first concert and rehearsing hard to get together in a formal way till the very last minute.

Paul Ferraris Gossec - Gavotte [戈赛克 加伏特舞曲]
I'm glad to hear Gossec Gavotte in La Corda D'Oro Prima Passo. It makes great connection between all Suzuki kids to this anime and to the classical world.
I rarely sit down for the entire drama but this is the exception. Love it's content very much, some meaningful thoughts which my kids teacher has tried to bring forward to them but... as it is, always difficult. Looking forward to purchase the DVDs which will release in June 2010

Gossec Gavotte is the last in the list of book 1 Suzuki Repertoire. As it is, the most difficult song to play at that level! Oh well... hope Hihara would cheer you up a little as he did to Hino.

This is the second part of the La Corda De Promo and Songs from a Secret Garden discovery!
Listen to this OST of the Legend Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi [태왕사신기] [太王四神記] which usually played at the end of each episode. Composed by Jo Hisaishi and lyrics by Lim Bo Kyung. Love Yiruma's songs and bought the latest Privia 830 (released in March 2010). No kidding, I manage to play this song within the next hour, even after many many donkey years of pianoless. It's easy to play yet beautiful.

Princess Hours [宫－我的野蛮王妃] - Perhaps Love [这是爱吗]
Bought Princess Hours DVD 2 years ago and finally got the chance to watch them.
Like Winter Sonata, we got hooked and ended up watched it soO many times. Well, still find them (both couples)so sweet. Joo Ji Hoon & Yoon Eun Hye in Princess Hours and Bae Yong Joon & Choi Ji Woo in Winter Sonata.
In this drama, there are a couple of OST which I'd love to add to my collections. Perhaps Love is one - very well composed and written for the lovely couples as you can see in the video below.
This is the lovely clip from Episode 16 where the couple had their first honeymoon at the beach. It was zero degree out there at the time of filming. And yet, as you can see, both of them were running about bare footed! 주지훈과윤은혜, "감사합니다!"

Don Juan? There's this song in his musical that really, truly caught my attention!

I first stumbled upon this song performed by Joo Ji Hoon [朱智勳] [주지훈] in Korean. Wow! I'm amazed at how well he can sing, a hidden talent where we don't normally see from his drama.
It's beautiful. This is the original FRENCH version sung by Marie Eve Janvier & Jean Francois Breau.
